Kimera

Two updates in as many days!?! maybe it's one of the signs that the world really is ending at the end of 2012. :p

Finished this one up last week, a personal commission project and I was given permission to post it to my online galleries. My customer wanted a depiction of a Chimera (Kimera being it's name in the Philippines) with the heads of a black bear, an alligator and a Filipino eagle.

This was a lot of fun to paint and I was really thankful to be provided with a huge amount of reference and inspiration to paint this.

Gift

Surface Studies 1

I just finished another big project and have got a little free time so usually, while I'm deciding what to paint next I'll start doing some studies and practice runs. It's better than taking a complete break and wasting that time watching TV or playing games. :p

Rango Unchained

I recently watched Rango and loved it, great fun story filled with cool characters and beautiful animation. I took a quick break from my other projects to do a speedie inspired by the film.

My little critter isn't Rango himself, he's a slightly bigger and more confident kinda guy.

Nomadic Journey

Wow, seems like a long time since I've posted anything... I've had no time at all for personal work the past month. It has been great to be working fairly steady though: 3 book covers (and another one on the horizon), some character work on a game, some environment work on another game and finally a personal commission.

Crazy times.

I like to at least post something each month so I had a look through my work from the past few months to see if there was anything that I hadn't got around to uploading here and sure enough there was:

This one was something I was messing around with a little while back to see how realistic I could make something look. Lots of photo elements and textured brushes for this one.
